Winston B. Young
Winston B. Young is the founder and chief executive officer of Young Engineering and Manufacturing Inc., a global leader in surge suppression technology for providing clean solutions to the critical issue of maintaining pipeline integrity and safety in Petrochemical, Water and Wastewater, Mining, and Fire Sprinkler markets.
Prior to the formation of Young Engineering, Mr. Young served in an engineering capacity with Greer Accumulators. During his tenure there, he recognized an opportunity to improve upon the existing design limitations of the time in surge suppression. It was through this that he developed his guiding principle of “Better…by design” that drives all aspects of Young Engineering and Manufacturing to strive for continuous improvement in order to exceed what was originally thought to be possible.
Mr. Young holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the California State University at Los Angeles with expertise in fluid mechanics. He is a registered professional engineer, published author and industry recognized expert in the field of hydraulic transients and mechanical design.
Ken Krogen is the Engineering Manager –Major Projects for Young Engineering and Manufacturing where he leads the company’s team for direct efforts in securing business globally through interaction with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firms, contractors, and major key accounts.
He has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic University at Pomona along with management tenure covering the diverse disciplines of Engineering, Operations and Quality Assurance. With over two decades of specific experience in surge suppression engineered solutions, he continues to travel extensively, providing commissioning and service expertise to installations throughout the world.
